There are so many amazing SMU senior photo spots to choose from! I shared a few spots in my previous blog post, but thought it would be helpful and fun to share a comprehensive list of where I think the best spots are, featuring the wonderful grads I took photos for in spring 2023!
Dallas Hall is an iconic and historic building that sits in the middle of campus. It has beautiful columns and steps that is picturesque with a distinctive Collegiate Georgian architectural style. It’s also the oldest building on campus. There are several photo spots on the steps, by the columns, and in front of the building. It’s also a great backdrop for fountain photos that I’ll discuss next!
Did you know there are at least seven fountains scattered across campus? The one I’m referring to is the Hoyt G. Kennemer Memorial Fountain, which is right in front of Dallas Hall. It has beautiful blue water and a great view. It’s also a great spot for champagne photos!
The new R. Gerald Turner Centennial area features a 20-foot octagonal pavillion that overlooks the Quadrangle. There is an interior dome that is hand-painted mural of the stars. The arches and flowers surrounding it makes it an aesthetic spot for SMU senior grad photos!
Of course, it’s always iconic to commemorate your time at school with photos by the school sign. Luckily, the SMU sign is surrounded by amazing trees as the perfect backdrop!
The lawn is another iconic SMU spot that really just feels like the quintessential college gathering location. On a good weather day, you’ll see students studying, relaxing, and enjoying the beauty that is SMU.
What better way to say “Pony Up!” than by taking photos with the SMU Mustang statues?
