Highland Park Photo Session | Shelly Chen
Highland Park is one of the best spots for a senior photo session in Dallas, Texas. There are so many different backdrops and beautiful parks in the neighborhood that are perfect for photos. The best thing is there are a variety of spots that are all only a few minutes from each other — which makes it so easy to plan and fit many locations in one session.
That’s why I was so excited when Shelly said she wanted to do her senior photo session at Highland Park!
I had the best time hitting up these spots with Shelly. Shelly is a senior at Colleyville Heritage High School who is graduating in 2023. She is on her school’s dance team and has such a fun personality! We laughed the whole session and got photos of her in the cutest outfits. Here’s what she said about the session:

Highland Park Village
Highland Park Village is a premier luxury shopping and lifestyle shopping center. This spot has a sophisticated, urban feel that makes it a popular photo location.
Everyone loves the pink flower backdrop — wear a fun, girly outfit and it’s instantly Instagram-worthy!
There is also the Iconic Village Theatre, nice storefront sidewalks, greenery-covered walls, and beautiful, patterned steps. There is also a fun gold elevator at the tower!
Flippen Park
Flippen Park is a small, beautiful park hidden at the center of a residential area. The lighting during golden hour is remarkable, creating the perfect glow between the trees and reflecting off the fountain. There are beautifully landscaped grounds with pretty flowers, and a nice gazebo in front of the calming water. Just don’t forget your mosquito spray — Shelly got bit by mosquitos plenty of times while we were here!
Lakeside Park
According to the Highland Park website, Lakeside Park sits on over 14 acres of beautiful grounds. It runs along Turtle Creek and includes numerous walking paths, bridges, and a lake surrounded by willow trees and dotted with water lilies. Oh, and don’t forget about the Teddy Bear statues!
