You’ve found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. You have the ring. And now, you’re ready to start planning the exciting moment where you get to pop the big question!
Planning the proposal can be daunting. Not only do you want to keep things a surprise for your partner, but you also want it to be a moment that you’ll both remember and treasure forever.
To help you plan your perfect Dallas proposal, I’ve put together my top five proposal tips and ideas!
There are so many Dallas proposal spots to choose from — it can be hard to pick the right place for you and your partner. My recommendation is to first think about how private or public you want the proposal to be. Then, decide what type of setting you want (urban, nature, restaurant, etc.)
For example, you can’t go wrong with White Rock Lake for a nature setting. This is a popular spot with so many different backgrounds, including open fields, a water view, and nice trails.
You can also pick a favorite spot that meant a lot to you as a couple. Mark and Monica spent a lot of time by the lake at Grapevine, so it was only fitting for Mark to propose at Rockledge Park!
Worried about the weather? An indoor studio like Black & Light Studio is a great option!
Next, you’ll want to assemble your team! Your team is there to help you make sure the proposal goes smoothly so that you have nothing to worry about.
Your proposal team can include:
It’s easy to get nervous and forget to say anything before popping the question. But this is a perfect time to share a sweet moment with your partner. Take the opportunity to go down memory lane, say why you want to marry them, and more.
I always recommend that the person proposing holds their partner’s hands while they give their speech. That gives them a sneaky way to rock their partner into position so that the photographer can see both their profiles!
The proposal itself can feel like such a blur! Remember to slow down and really soak it all in. I tell my clients to take a few moments between “[your partner’s name]” and “will you marry me?” to stay on their knees a tad longer. Not only does this help them treasure the moment, but it also gives your photographer a chance to make sure they get the perfect shot!
Lastly, it can be fun to invite close friends and family to join in on the celebration! After all, they’ve been your biggest supporters! It’s such a fun time to take group photos, show them the ring, and relive the moment!
If you want friends and family to witness the proposal, you’ll want to coordinate with them so they know when the proposal will be, where to hide, and all the details in between.
I would love to help you plan and take photos of your perfect Dallas proposal! While you focus on popping the question, I will be discretely getting every shot so that you and your soon-to-be fiancée can remember the moment forever.
