Welcome to my blog! I’m so excited to have a space where I can document my journey as a Dallas portrait photographer. I’ll be sharing about my recent photo sessions, favorite photo session tips and much more.
I thought it’d be fun to kick things off with a Q&A style interview so you can get to know more about me and the heart behind this business. Let’s get started!
As you read about on my home page, I started my photography journey when my dad gifted me one of his cameras. He loved taking photos of people and often did photo shoots for me and my friends. And he heavily invested in camera equipment to fuel his passion for photography.
To be honest, when he gave me his camera, I didn’t really take the time to learn how to properly use it. For years, I relied on auto mode to capture everything and had a Lightroom subscription that I hardly used.
But in 2019, I decided to take an in-person photography course. I learned so much about the different types of camera settings and lenses and how to shoot in manual mode. It was great timing because when the pandemic hit in 2020, I had lots of time to practice these skills (with my husband modeling for me) and watch even more photography courses and videos online. Since then, it’s been a lot of fun learning the craft and getting better and better each day!
I would say my photography style is bright, bold and true to life! I love natural and vibrant colors. And as my tagline says, my goal is to “capture fun and joyful moments” that celebrates you!
I’m super friendly and ready to make sure that you have an amazing time during your shoot! To make sure everything goes smoothly, I keep everything really organized and send you all the details you need to know. I also make sure everything is personalized to your unique story and vision!
Having just moved from Austin back to the north DFW area, I’m on the hunt to find the best photo locations! One of my favorites so far is this beautiful purple flower dream in Richardson.
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano is also a wonderful photo spot – full of greenery and different walkways and paths!
I also have a lot of locations on my bucket list (White Rock Lake and Dallas Arboretum to name a few) that I can’t wait to try out!
